MaineHealth Behavioral Health Integration

Description

A program within the MaineHealth system designed to deliver timely, episodic behavioral health services to patients within the medical practices. It is comprised of LCSWs, professional counselors, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and psychiatrists. A newer role is the Child Support Specialist (CSS), a care team member who provides parental support and guidance to address a wide range of family needs. The impact and success of the CSS is experienced by patients, providers, and care team members.

Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute

Description

An independent and nonpartisan nonprofit organization advancing policies for accessible, effective mental health care in Texas. Promotes behavioral health integration efforts through the utilization of the Collaborative Care Model (CoCM). These efforts primarily focus on providing technical assistance tools and best practices sharing to meaningfully support care teams seeking to implement high-fidelity CoCM.

Mental Health America (MHA) Integrated Health Care Initiative

Description

A nonprofit organization and affiliate network that advocates for policies  that incorporate behavioral health into primary care settings, MHA aims to improve patient outcomes and reduce care fragmentation. Their efforts emphasize the need for comprehensive, patient-centered approaches that address mental health, substance use disorders, and chronic physical conditions, fostering a holistic approach to healthcare delivery.

Mental Health Integration Lab (MHIL) | Penn Center for Mental Health

Description

A program that partners with researchers, organizations, and clinical stakeholders to support the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based mental health screening, prevention, and intervention practices in non-specialty mental health settings.

Milbank Memorial Fund

Description

A foundation that conducts research and publishes analysis on BHI models, makes grants for workforce development and rural health system growth, and disseminates information on best practices for implementing and scaling up integrated care.

National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP)

Description

A nonprofit organization that supports state leaders by providing technical assistance, publishing and disseminating research and analyses, sharing best practices, and bringing new health policy ideas across executive and legislative branches of state government. Behavioral Health is a policy area of focus, with specific resources related to behavioral health integration.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

Description

A non-profit that increases awareness about BHI through published blog posts, briefs, and reports, and advocates for changes to public policy. They focus on fighting stigma and encouraging understanding nationwide. They also created NAMI Hearts+Minds, a wellness program designed to educate and empower patients to better manage their health — mentally and physically.

National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC)

Description

The leading national advocacy organization in support of Community Health Centers and the expansion of health care access (including behavioral health) for the medically underserved and uninsured.

National Association of State Alcohol and Drug Abuse Directors (NASADAD)

Description

A non-profit membership organization representing Single State Agency Directors (SSAs) for substance use disorder (SUD) prevention, treatment, and recovery services throughout the United States. NASADAD develops and disseminates educational materials, provides technical assistance, conducts research, and promotes public policy positions on SUD care with federal and national audiences. Most of their resources are developed exclusively for the association members.

National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD)

Description

A membership-based non-profit organization that serves state mental health authorities through providing technical assistance, developing resource guides and other educational materials, and hosting events related to the public mental health service delivery system.
