Training and Events Calendar

The Academy Training and Events calendar is an easy-to-use resource for healthcare professionals across all settings of care and specialties looking for educational opportunities to further their knowledge of integrating behavioral health with primary care. Some training opportunities are available as in-person meetings while others are conducted via live webinar. Opportunities are updated weekly, and the “filter” function can be used to search fields such as event type, location (virtual or in-person), CE/CME availability, and topic. Opportunities are identified from federal agencies and non-federal organizations, academic institutions, government agencies, and member associations conducting work in behavioral health integration.

The global shortage of high-quality clinical training opportunities has been a growing concern for health professions education with far-reaching implications. Most notably in the United States, clinical training sites and slots are not expanding in pace with the growing number of health professional schools and students, resulting in heightened competition for available spots and difficulty for students to complete required training. Exacerbating the problem is the extensive burnout of clinicians and workforce attrition, leading to limited preceptor capacity. This workshop series will explore causes and potential solutions to the growing challenge of insufficient experiential learning sites across all the health professions.

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine's (NASEM)'s planning committee will select and invite speakers, moderators, and discussants to participate in the workshop series.
Join the Primary Care Collaborative (PCC) for a webinar exploring how emerging technologies and new tools can empower primary care teams and streamline participation in value-based care.

For many clinicians, participation in value-based care is associated with more documentation and less time for direct patient care. But with the rise of new technology, we may be on the verge of tools that reduce documentation demands, delivers actionable data at the point of care and engage patients with their own care. In this webinar, panelists will discuss the role of policy, industry standards, payment, and innovation in scaling primary care teams with technology that can improve health in all communities.

This is the second webinar in a series of discussions PCC is hosting in 2025 about how to reduce the administrative burdens associated with participation in value-based care. Early this year, they discussed the role of multi-payer alignment and reducing the burden of collecting and reporting quality measures.

The substance use disorder field is in the middle of big changes. Small, mission-driven nonprofits — often running on limited resources — are now competing with large, capital-backed provider organizations entering markets funded by Medicaid and grants. Margins are tighter than ever, and the One Big Beautiful Bill Act will add new billing and documentation requirements that could strain already stretched teams.

In this environment, efficiency isn’t a “nice to have”— it’s survival. Organizations need ways to reduce administrative burden without sacrificing quality. That’s especially true in group therapy, where high-volume sessions create some of the heaviest documentation loads.

At the same time, substance use disorder programs depend on a unique workforce often made up of peers with lived experience. Alongside credentialed clinicians, they bring unmatched trust and empathy. The more time these teams can spend with clients, the stronger the care. Innovative technology can give them that time.

Join the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to discover how AI-powered solutions can help an organization. With cutting-edge technology like AI, organizations can protect their teams’ time, energy and confidence. This not only improves staff retention but also strengthens client outcomes. Even without the scale or capital of large competitors, mission-driven organizations can compete effectively thanks to purpose-built technology solutions.

Despite recent declines in overdose deaths nationally, overdose rates continue to rise across a number of states, communities, and demographic groups — highlighting the need for targeted interventions in communities hardest hit by the opioid crisis. Identifying and investing in local solutions are key to catalyzing change, and community-based organizations (CBOs) are critical partners for providing tailored substance use services and supports at the local level.

This webinar, hosted by the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP), will explore some of the common barriers that CBOs face when competing for opioid settlement funding (and other state-administered grants), as well as highlight strategies in Massachusetts and South Carolina to enhance partnerships and lower barriers to funding for community-based partners working to reduce overdose deaths.

The Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) has five core principles: Patient-Centered Team Care, Population-Based Care, Measurement-Based Treatment to Target, Evidence-Based Care and Accountability for Outcomes. CoCM creates opportunities for primary care teams to address behavioral health needs with effective, evidence-based strategies. A recent article discussed the role of Evidenced Based psychotherapy interventions in CoCM. This webinar, hosted by the AIMS Center at the University of Washington, will highlight two evidenced based brief interventions—Behavioral Activation (BA) and Problem-Solving Treatment (PST)—that are well-suited for integration into CoCM. Presenters will review the core principles and evidence base for BA and PST, demonstrate how these approaches can be delivered in brief, structured formats within primary care, and explore practical solutions to common implementation challenges. Participants will gain practical tools to strengthen their collaborative care practice and improve patient outcomes.

At the end of this session, participants should be able to:

Describe the core principles and evidence base of Behavioral Activation (BA) and Problem-Solving Treatment (PST)

Identify strategies for delivering BA and PST in brief, structured formats that fit primary care settings

Recognize common challenges and solutions when implementing BA and PST in real-world collaborative care settings

As health care organizations increasingly shift toward value-based care (VBC), integrating behavioral health is no longer secondary—it’s essential. While challenges persist, physician practices and payers continue to work together to develop solutions to common issues such as patient attribution, patient access to care, and data evaluation in the quest to provide timely, evidence-based, equitable, and coordinated health care.

This American Medical Association (AMA) webinar shares real-world examples and lessons learned on how to address these challenges, as well as actionable considerations for the future of whole-person care in value-based arrangements.

Recent reports from the National Council of Nonprofits and the Center for an Urban Future highlight the scale of the human services staffing crisis. A significant portion of nonprofits report job vacancies, with some estimates as high as 74.6%. This is fueled by high levels of stress and burnout—over half of respondents cited it as a key contributing factor. What can leaders do about this?

Join Social Current’s experts in brain science and trauma-informed approaches for this free webinar that will offer insight into this pressing question. The session will focus on how to move beyond top-down, employee recognition and self-care initiatives to authentically partner with staff to improve engagement, communication, resilience, and retention. This requires empathy, connection, mindfulness, and gratitude from leaders.

While this is a lot to prioritize, the good news is there is a simple, foundational framework that underpins all these topics—the brain and stress response system. Understanding this is the key to creating brain-friendly work environments.

This session will explore concepts and strategies for aligning workplace environments with how the brain thrives. By embracing this orientation, organizations can cultivate a culture where employees can more easily plan, adapt, and innovate—increasing both personal and organizational success.
