NAMI Ask the Expert: Roles in Recovery Part 2: Parents

This panel, hosted by the National Alliance on Mental Illness, presents the lived experience of three mothers who have survived and prospered, while navigating the 30+ years of their caregiving experiences of adult children with serious mental illness (SMI). The moderator, Dr. Judith R. Smith, psychotherapist and author of Difficult: Mothering challenging adult children through conflict and change will share her research that describes the challenges that women experience as they age and care for their adult children with SMI and/or substance use disorder.
