Transforming SUD Treatment: The Science, Policy, and Practice of Recovery Incentive Programs

The National Council for Mental Wellbeing will lead a panel discussion to explore how recovery incentive programs are being integrated into comprehensive treatment plans alongside therapy, medication for substance use disorders, and recovery support services. This webinar examines both the evidence behind structured reward systems and their real-world application and impact, including demonstrated results in improving retention and reducing substance use and overdose deaths.

While barriers such as funding constraints, stigma, and misconceptions of the approach have historically limited implementation, emerging payment models, increasing federal and state support, and strong provider advocacy are serving as powerful catalysts to champion scaling this life-saving intervention.
