In the past decade, payers have drastically expanded billing opportunities to financially sustain integrated care models. Many insurers now cover a wide range of non-face-to-face services that can improve care coordination, integration, efficiency and outcomes. This webinar, hosted by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, empowers state agencies, health care providers, and other stakeholders to understand the wide range of billing mechanisms that can be used to support care coordination and integration across mental health, substance use, and primary care settings. It will:
- Cover the rationale for building sustainable integrated care programs
- Promote strategies to bill for bi-directional integrated care services, including evidence-based screening, assessment, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and recovery services
- Provide billing strategies specific to Promoting the Integration of Primary and Behavioral Health Care (PIPBHC) grantees and their provider partners.
Attendees will also learn how to leverage “incident-to” billing policies to support utilization of auxiliary staff types in care delivery, such as registered nurses, community health workers, and medical assistants. In addition, the webinar will offer a “sneak peek” of the Excel-based Decision Support Tool, which has been updated to include payment rates and billing codes for 2025.
