Virtual YSBIRT Overview Training

-

Early identification and intervention can significantly lower the chances of developing long-term substance use disorders. The National Council for Mental Wellbeing’s Youth Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (YSBIRT) training empowers participants to identify, reduce and prevent risky alcohol and drug use among youth.

Administrators and clinicians who are new to YSBIRT or looking to brush up on their knowledge are invited to participate in the virtual YSBIRT Overview training.

During this session, participants will learn:

  • Strategies for incorporating YSBIRT into trauma-informed care models.
  • Evidence-based screening tools to assess risk levels in adolescents.
  • Brief intervention protocols that maximize engagement while minimizing resistance.
  • Best practices for connecting high-risk youth with appropriate specialized services.
