After Grief and Loss in Peer Services

-

Grief and loss are all too common in the field of substance use recovery. They’re felt by those in recovery, as well as the peer recovery support specialists (PRSSs) who walk alongside them. As frontline workers, PRSSs face an emotional toll from these experiences.

In this webinar, hosted by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, leading experts will explore practical strategies for navigating grief, fostering resilience and supporting both the PRSS workforce and the people they serve through times of loss.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand grief and loss related to substance use disorders through a trauma-informed lens.
  • Identify how the PRSS’s perspective impacts compassion fatigue.
  • Describe tools a PRSS can use to position themself as an asset for loved ones.
