NASEM: Advancing Health Care Professional Education and Training in Diagnostic Excellence

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) Forum on Advancing Diagnostic Excellence will host a hybrid public workshop on April 3 examining ways to strengthen health care professional education and reduce diagnostic errors. Speakers will explore:

• The iterative and collaborative nature of the diagnostic process.
• Patient and community-centered approaches.
• Strategies to improve communication, care coordination, and teamwork.
• Factors that contribute to diagnostic disparities.
• The appropriate use of diagnostic tests and technologies, including artificial intelligence, to support the diagnostic process.
