The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA’s) National Training and Technical Assistance Center for Early Serious Mental Illness (ESMI TTA Center) is hosting a webinar series addressing a range of topics related to early serious mental illness (ESMI), including clinical high risk for psychosis (CHR-P) and first episode psychosis (FEP). State Mental Health Authorities, practitioners, providers, peers, community referral partners, evaluators, family members, individuals experiencing ESMI, and other stakeholders are invited to attend.
The third session of the series will be a one-hour webinar on screening, diagnosis, and risk assessment for CHR-P. Dr. Barbara Walsh, Clinical Director of the PRIME Clinic at Yale University will provide this overview and moderate a panel composed of SAMHSA CHR-P grantees to identify challenges, practical solutions, and resources to advance CHR-P programming.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify three screening tools for assessing CHR-P.
- Assess team member roles in screening, diagnosis, and risk assessment.
- Identify three strategies for the development of referral pathways.
- Describe considerations for co-occurring conditions.
