Organizations that work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) can become trauma-informed, resilience-oriented and equity-focused (TIROE) to best meet the needs of the people they serve.
Join the National Council for Mental Wellbeing to learn more and engage in a conversation about TIROE systems (TIROES) and approaches. This session will explore the prevalence and impact of trauma; the key principles of TIROES; what being trauma-informed looks like in daily practice; and the connection to self-care and compassion resilience. Participants will also:
- Gain knowledge on key concepts and principles for being TIROE.
- Learn how to build compassion resiliency skills that help prevent burnout and compassion fatigue.
- Engage in discussion around TIROE best practices for organizations that serve individuals with IDD.
