Building Hope: A Journey Through Crisis Residential Services

-

Join the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, in partnership with the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD), for the second session of a four-part Crisis Stabilization Learning Series, sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

As communities across the country — and the nation as a whole — continue to invest and strengthen their crisis response services systems, many recognize the need for crisis stabilization services as alternatives to emergency departments and inpatient hospital stays for those experiencing behavioral health crises.  Alternative models of care exist and continue to expand services for those in need of a safe place for help, including individuals with serious mental illness (SMI).

Presenters from Giant Steps and Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services will explore an efficient, cost-effective and innovative model: Crisis Residential Services (including peer respites).

By attending the webinar, you will:

  • Better understand the Crisis Residential Services model.
  • Better understand the considerations for implementation, partnerships, scaling, funding and sustainability.
  • Gain knowledge of how Crisis Residential Services are managed, staffed and operate day to day.

Presenters:

  • Josh Gran, Principal, Giant Steps, Kingston, NY
  • Elan Javanfard, LMFT, Division Director, Crisis Residential and Substance Services, Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, Los Angeles, CA
