SAMHSA: National Prevention Week Kickoff Celebration

You are invited to attend the live virtual kickoff event for National Prevention Week 2024. Join the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) leadership and partners to celebrate the power of youth and the future of prevention.

This virtual celebration features:

• FentAlert Challenge winners. 
  • SAMHSA’s FentAlert Challenge sought the best ideas from U.S. youth, ages 14–18, on a community strategy to educate their peers about fentanyl and fake pills ― and prevent drug overdose deaths. The challenge received nearly 200 entries from across the country.
• Highlights from MUSC’s EMPOWERR program. 
  • EMPOWERR seeks to reduce the onset of substance use and prevent transmission of HIV, hepatitis, and other sexually transmitted infections, as well as prevent unintended pregnancy in minority youth and young adults in the Charleston, South Carolina area.
