According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, nearly one in four American have a behavioral health condition. But millions of Americans don’t get the care they need to manage or treat their condition effectively. Cost, stigma, and lack of awareness are all major barriers to care—especially for vulnerable populations.
Medicaid and CHIP are uniquely positioned to help address these underlying issues. Covering nearly 90 million people—or nearly one quarter of all Americans—Medicaid and CHIP are key vehicles for bettering the health of underserved communities.
By fostering the integration of behavioral health into primary care, Medicaid and CHIP can address the underlying issues that prevent millions from getting the care they deserve.
Join the Primary Care Collaborative (PCC) and other health policy experts for a discussion on how Medicaid and CHIP can encourage behavioral health integration and help build a better care experience for people along the way.
