This webinar will provide an overview of the CMS Electronic Prescribing for Controlled Substances (EPCS) Program, which implements Section 2003 of the SUPPORT Act (Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities Act). Section 2003 of the SUPPORT Act generally mandates that Schedule II-V controlled substances under Medicare Part D prescription drug plans (including Medicare Advantage) be electronically prescribed. In addition to providing program background, this webinar will summarize the 2023 CMS EPCS Program Year rules and discuss changes proposed in the 2024 Physician Fee Schedule Notice of Proposed Rulemaking. Finally, the webinar will provide information about educational resources for prescribers and how prescribers can provide feedback on their user experience with these materials.
