Implementing the SAMHSA/NASMHPD 988 Convening Playbooks

In early 2022, SAMHSA, in co-sponsorship with the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD), worked with partners across critical working sectors involved with 988 to develop 988 Implementation Guidance Playbooks (e.g. “playbooks”) for States, Territories, and Tribes; Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Providers; Lifeline Contact Centers; and Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs) in order to assist programs and providers with preparing for and implementing 988 related services.

To further support providers and organizations in these efforts, attendees of this webinar will be given an in-depth overview of the Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Provider playbook with strategies for implementation, case studies and other resources. The webinar will also outline SAMHSA’s 5-year plan for the continued implementation and enhancement of 988 and other services across the Crisis Continuum.
