Rethinking the Role of Family in Addiction Care: PCSS Clinical Roundtable

-

Social and family support are predictors of treatment retention, sustained recovery, and improved quality of life for persons with substance use disorder. Yet, family members are not engaged in addiction treatment settings to improve their health or that of their loved ones. It is important for addiction care teams to understand how information and education provided to family members can impact the course of a loved one's treatment and recovery. Some basic changes can be made to integrate this invaluable resource into addiction care.

This talk discusses substance use disorder treatment in a post-COVID world. Discussion is designed to promote interactivity through an informal "round table" conversation. Attendees will be given the opportunity to speak directly with the presenter to ask questions and discuss issues.
