MAT Tools and Resources

To support Florida's individuals, families, communities and practitioners, this collection of information and resources on treatment of opioid use disorder in special populations was compiled by FADAA with support from the Florida Department of Children and Families Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health. The materials are organized into three categories by population: justice Involved Individuals, veterans, and rural populations.

This program — Support for Hospital Opioid Use Treatment (Project SHOUT) — provides clinical leaders with the tools they need to start and maintain patients on buprenorphine or methadone during hospitalizations for any condition, be it medical, surgical, or obstetric.

The BMC MAT Quick Start App utilizes interactive clinical algorithms to walk clinicians through each step of the medication initiation process and pain management recommendations for patients with OUD. The app does not replace clinical decision-making and is meant to help inform clinicians regarding the use of medications for opioid use disorder.

The ASAM Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder Course provides eight hours of required education to qualify for the waiver to prescribe buprenorphine in an office-based setting and covers essential information for providers to identify, assess, diagnose, and manage patients with opioid use disorder (OUD). The course covers the latest information on medications and treatments for OUD.

The ACPA Resource Guide to Chronic Pain Management combines practical clinical experience and the most recent scientific information presented in an easy-to-read format for consumers and professionals.

Navigating Addiction and Treatment: A Guide for Families is a resource for family members who are trying to navigate the complex world of addiction and help loved ones achieve recovery. The guide includes basic definitions, as well as in-depth information about substance use disorders, treatment options, communication strategies, and self-care tips.

This roadmap and toolkit provides planning steps, strategies, and resources for the implementation of primary care and behavioral health services via telehealth.

This white paper reviews cybersecurity risks, regulatory issues, policies and procedures, audit tools, and best practices in the use and management of telehealth and telemedicine, and offers recommendation for addressing them.
