Curriculum

Introduces health professionals, students, and primary care residents to a standardized approach to the management of patients with chronic nonmalignant pain that integrates techniques for the prevention and detection of misuse of prescription opioids.

Teaches medical providers how to recognize and manage aberrant behaviors in patients taking prescription opioids, such as drug misuse or diversion; how to terminate opioid treatment and transition patients to alternative types of care; and how to manage disruptive or threatening patient behaviors that may arise when discontinuing opioids.

Provides buprenorphine treatment curricula, online courses about substance use disorders and MAT, recorded webinars, toolkits, and other resources.

Offers continuing medical education/continuing nursing education activities, which help providers learn to safely and effectively manage patients with chronic pain, when appropriate, with opioid analgesics.
