This program — Support for Hospital Opioid Use Treatment (Project SHOUT) — provides clinical leaders with the tools they need to start and maintain patients on buprenorphine or methadone during hospitalizations for any condition, be it medical, surgical, or obstetric.

The BMC MAT Quick Start App utilizes interactive clinical algorithms to walk clinicians through each step of the medication initiation process and pain management recommendations for patients with OUD. The app does not replace clinical decision-making and is meant to help inform clinicians regarding the use of medications for opioid use disorder.

The ASAM Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder Course provides eight hours of required education to qualify for the waiver to prescribe buprenorphine in an office-based setting and covers essential information for providers to identify, assess, diagnose, and manage patients with opioid use disorder (OUD). The course covers the latest information on medications and treatments for OUD.

These clinical tools include guidance and forms for the implementation of medication-assisted treatment in ambulatory care settings.

This pocket guide is for drug court participants who may be prescribed or considering medication as a part of addiction treatment, as well as their families and support systems, including peer mentors, recovery coaches, and peer recovery specialists.

Provides guidance on the use of buprenorphine among a number of topics, including physiology and pharmacology of opioids, opioid addiction, and buprenorphine treatment; screening and assessment of OUDs; protocols for buprenorphine treatment; management of special populations; and policies and procedures related to DATA 2000.

Provides a form for recording important information about prospective patients, including drug use history, treatment history, criminal history, and health history.

Provides a sample for buprenorphine treatment intake history and physical.

Offers a sample checklist for treatment program personnel who answer inquiries about buprenorphine/naloxone treatment.

Provides a form to document important information that should be recorded during the intake assessment, including whether the patient is pregnant, is taking other drugs, is on methadone, or has other addiction behaviors.
