This brief provides an overview of telehealth for medication-assisted treatment.

Provider Bridge is a platform that will streamline the process for mobilizing health care professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic and future public health emergencies. Utilizing communications pathways and new technology, Provider Bridge will make it easier to connect health care professionals with state agencies and health care entities in order to quickly increase access to care for patients via telehealth.

The Commonwealth Fund, the Center for Care Innovations, and the University of California, San Francisco have launched this toolkit to support providers in using telemedicine to care for vulnerable patients during this challenging time, and as means of advancing health equity.

The U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, commissioned a rapid evidence review on the effectiveness of interventions to promote a broader understanding of the published literature on medication-assisted treatment retention among adults with opioid use disorder.

Offers guidance on video conferencing with patients when providing substance use services, including a clinical support session checklist, a review of legal, ethical, and patient/peer safety concerns, and privacy/security and confidentiality issues

Assists clinicians and administrators in implementing behavioral healthcare using telehealth by offering key considerations and examples of using telehealth for behavioral health

Provides assistance, education, and information to organizations and individuals who are actively providing or interested in providing healthcare at a distance through events, resources, webinars, techncial assistance, and an interactive map used to find the affiliated regional telehealth resource center

Explores different telehealth interventions that can be implemented for populations experiencing alcohol misuse and categorizes the interventions according to phases of alcohol misuse treatment

Provides an introduction to implementing telehealth services in primary care during COVID-19, including the prerequisites, policies, procedures, and practice

Outlines steps and best practices when implementing telehealth strategies to promote adoption of new technology by healthcare organizations
