This collection of tools and resources is for providers, staff, and patients who offer or use services to address substance use, and other interested stakeholders. This collection was originally established following an environmental scan on implementing medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder (OUD) in rural primary care. (See PDFs of Volume 1 [PDF 0.69 MB] and Volume 2 [PDF 1.28 MB] of that scan). Items have been continuously added to this collection since then, and the collection has expanded to cover substance use more broadly, rather than just MAT for OUD.

Clinical Guidelines for the Use of Buprenorphine in the Treatment of Opioid Addiction. Treatment Improvement Protocol (TIP) Series 40.
Provides guidance on the use of buprenorphine among a number of topics, including physiology and pharmacology of opioids, opioid addiction, and buprenorphine treatment; screening and assessment of OUDs; protocols for buprenorphine treatment; management of special populations; and policies and procedures related to DATA 2000.
Drug Use Disorders Identification Test
Screens individuals for drug dependence, including use of opioids, with an 11-item self-report instrument.
Maudsley Addiction Profile (MAP)
Measures treatment outcomes across four domains: substance use, health risk behavior, physical and psychological health, and personal/social functioning.
