This guidance publication is intended to support the efforts of states, tribes, and local communities in addressing the needs of pregnant women with opioid use disorders and their infants and families.

This module introduces family support professionals and other service providers to basic information about the importance of medication compliance, and provides an understanding of how pregnant and parenting women being treated for behavioral health or medical conditions may be non-compliant or misuse medications. It prepares service providers to recognize women who may be at risk for noncompliance or misuse of medications, develop a plan for referral, and support women with behavioral health problems or medical condition.

To support Florida's individuals, families, communities and practitioners, this collection of information and resources on treatment of opioid use disorder in special populations was compiled by FADAA with support from the Florida Department of Children and Families Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health. The materials are organized into three categories by population: justice Involved Individuals, veterans, and rural populations.

Navigating Addiction and Treatment: A Guide for Families is a resource for family members who are trying to navigate the complex world of addiction and help loved ones achieve recovery. The guide includes basic definitions, as well as in-depth information about substance use disorders, treatment options, communication strategies, and self-care tips.

These resources promote awareness and strengthen knowledge and skills for professionals who are seeking to understand and apply Protected Health Information privacy laws and regulations on the job and for individuals and families when accessing services.

Treatment providers and peer support specialists looking for online and telephone support groups for their patients/peers should review the list below. Both 12 Step and non-12 Step-based online support groups are identified.
