Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)’s National Prevention Week (NPW) helps to promote mental health awareness and substance use prevention. NPW takes place May 8-14, 2022. SAMHSA will kick off NPW with a SAMHSA Prevention Day virtual event on Monday, May 9.
This year’s NPW daily themes include:
- May 9 - Strengthening Community Resilience: Substance Misuse and Overdose Prevention
- May 10 - Preventing Substance Use and Promoting Mental Health in Youth
- May 11- Preventing Suicide: Everyone Plays a Role
- May 12 - The Talent Pipeline: Enhancing the Prevention Workforce
- May 13 - Prevention is Everywhere: Highlighting Efforts Across Settings and Communities
- May 14 - Celebrating Prevention Heroes
