Email UpdatesThe Agency for Healthcare and Research Quality (AHRQ)-funded Rural Access to Medication Assisted Treatment in Pennsylvania project (Project RAMP) is featured in AHRQ’s latest Impact Case Study: Pennsylvania Primary Care Providers Treat Opioid Use Disorders with Medication, Improve Recovery Rates.
The Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) collaborated with Project RAMP to expand Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder (OUD) in Pennsylvania. LVHN has trained primary care providers to use MAT to treat OUD with great success. LVHN’s program started with four primary care physicians, and as of April 2021, has reached 25 participating primary care providers. Approximately 72 percent of the LVHN’s patients remain in treatment after 120 days and 65 percent remain after 180 days. Nationally, just 20 to 30 percent of patients usually remain in treatment by 120 to 180 days.
