Wearable devices and other digital tools show potential to support prevention, early intervention, treatment, and recovery for mental health conditions and substance use disorders (SUDs).

SAMHSA has released a new Advisory: How Wearables and Other Digital Tools Are Driving Innovation in Behavioral Health and is hosting a companion webinar for healthcare providers, public health professionals, policymakers, and patients and their families. The webinar will explore how emerging digital innovations can help monitor and manage mental health challenges and SUDs by providing real-time data, self-management support, and personalized interventions that can improve treatment outcomes and overall well-being.

Stephanie Carreiro, M.D., Ph.D., a physician-scientist and nationally recognized expert in the use of wearables to support people with behavioral health conditions, will share evidence-informed insights on integrating wearable devices, mobile apps, and other digital tools into behavioral health care.

  • Emerging digital innovations that help to monitor and manage mental health conditions and SUDs
  • The benefits of using wearables and other digital tools to improve treatment outcomes and well-being
