It will provide an overview of the evolving landscape of clinical obesity treatment in primary care, highlighting the use of GLP-1–based therapies and perspectives from primary care clinicians, including challenges, uncertainties, and positive impacts.
The session will discuss how behavioral health clinicians support whole-person care within a multimodal framework by addressing psychological, behavioral, social, and environmental factors. It will also highlight practical strategies to support patients and collaboration with prescribing clinicians. Additionally, the webinar will review unique considerations related to GLP-1 therapies, including inequitable access, loss of coverage, long-term use concerns, stigma, and challenges such as maintaining muscle mass through resistance training.
