Overcoming Workforce Challenges in the Integrated Health Field

Organizations working to integrate mental health and substance use treatment within general health care services continue to feel the impact of workforce shortages stemming from challenges with training and cross-agency collaboration, system-wide restrictions and challenges securing sustainable resources. As a result, patients are experiencing longer wait times; health care workers are feeling increasingly burned out; and health care costs are higher in a critical time when demand is on the rise.
