Integrated care settings excel with the collaboration of ambassadors such as peer support workers, community health workers, and cultural healers. This webinar, sponsored by the Indian Health Service TeleBehavioral Health Center of Excellence (TBHCE), is a part of the Behavioral Health Integration webinar series. The presenters will focus on the role of these partners, identifying which partner attendees would refer to for various needs while keeping in mind important considerations for engagement when working together for a patient. The presenters will then discuss how this ambassador partnership honors indigenous values and review case studies where the partnership led to improved health outcomes for the patient.
Objectives:
- Examine the roles of different community partners such as peer support workers, community health workers, and cultural healers.
- Identify methods in which to refer the patient to the best community partner for their needs.
