The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is partnering with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to host a webinar about suicide prevention among children, youth, and families. This webinar, taking place on World Suicide Prevention Day, will provide an overview of suicide data and risk among these populations, as well as describe suicide prevention strategies for use by organizations and agencies working with children, youth, and families.
Presenters and grantee panelists will also describe populations who are disproportionately impacted by suicide—such as American Indian and Alaska Native youth, LGBTQI+ youth, youth involved in the juvenile justice system, and youth and families experiencing homelessness—and strategies to reduce and eliminate these health disparities. They will also share tools and resources that participants can use in their prevention efforts.
