2024 CMS Health Equity Conference

-

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will host its second CMS Health Equity Conference on May 29-30, 2024. The free, hybrid conference will be held in person at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Bethesda, Maryland, and available online for virtual participation.

CMS looks forward to convening health equity leaders from federal and local agencies, health provider organizations, academia, community-based organizations, and others to sustain health equity through action. Conference attendees will have the opportunity to hear from CMS leadership on recent developments and updates to CMS programs; explore the latest health equity research; discuss promising practices and creative solutions; and collaborate on community engagement strategies.

Due to overwhelming interest in the conference, capacity is full for in-person participation. But virtual registration will remain open until May 14, 2023. Please fill out the virtual registration form to attend the conference online via Zoom Events. If you would still like a chance to attend the conference at the Hyatt Regency in Bethesda, Maryland, please join the waitlist. If space becomes available, email invitations will be sent to individuals in the order they joined the waitlist.

As a virtual attendee, you’ll have full access to all the plenary and breakout sessions we have to offer, along with a virtual poster gallery, exhibit hall, and networking opportunities. Highlights on the first day of the conference will include:

  • A welcome from CMS Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure and an HHS Maternal Health Panel, which will feature speakers from the Health Resources and Services Administration, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. The panel will address cross-department collaboration to improve outcomes and reduce disparities in maternal health.
  • An afternoon keynote address from Dr. Aletha Maybank, Chief Health Equity Officer & Senior Vice President of the American Medical Association.
  • A diverse group of breakout sessions featuring discussions on outreach and engagement, health equity data, culturally and linguistically appropriate services, Pacific and Caribbean health equity, and more.

You can view our full agenda on the conference website. We hope to see you virtually later this month!
