White House Recovery Month Summit

-

President Biden proclaimed September 2022 as National Recovery Month. On Friday, September 23, at 1 PM ET, the White House will be hosting and livestreaming a Recovery Month Summit to celebrate the tens of millions of Americans in recovery from substance use disorder. Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff and I will be joined at the Summit by Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh and Assistant Secretary for Mental Health and Substance Use Dr. Miriam Delphin-Rittmon.

The Summit will feature stories and insights from people in recovery as well as a special panel with members of the creative team for the Hulu series Dopesick.  It will also highlight new actions by the Biden-Harris Administration to support people in recovery and address addiction and the opioid epidemic as part of President Biden’s Unity Agenda to save lives.

We hope you will be able to tune into this special event as we celebrate recovery and show our support to individuals and families impacted by addiction and the opioid epidemic.
The Summit will be livestreamed on The White House website starting at 1 PM ET.
