SAMHSA: Preventing Opioid Overdose at Reentry through Jail- and Community-based Programs

Formerly incarcerated individuals with opioid use disorder are at high risk for death by overdose during the first 2 weeks after reentering the community. This webinar, hosted by SAMHSA's GAINS Center, will cover five critical activities that jail- and community-based programs can engage in to ensure continuity of treatment and the necessary supports to lower the risk of overdose during this transition. Specific program examples around jail-based treatments and health care, community-based in-reach activities, and specialized case management will be shared.
